Americans complain the least about 5 automakers

This month, car insurance experts released data on which automakers seem to stay out of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) complaint log over time. The group inspected hundreds of thousands of driver filings dating back to 2015. Here are the five automakers U.S. drivers complain about the least, according to the study.

5. Audi

Average complaints per car: 70.35

Audi drivers clearly enjoy the brand’s “tasteful” blend of luxury and performance. The Audi Q5 is a top seller, offering a smooth ride, high-tech features, and a refined cabin. The A4 sedan also stands out, known for its sporty handling and upscale interior. For electric fans, the Audi e-tron delivers a premium EV experience with solid range and comfort.

4. Lexus

Average complaints per car: 68.24

Lexus earns praise for reliability and comfort. The RX, its best-selling SUV, provides a plush ride, advanced safety features, and strong resale value. The ES sedan remains a favorite for those wanting luxury without the hefty price tag. For performance lovers, the Lexus IS and LC offer exciting drives without sacrificing Lexus’ signature smoothness.

3. Polestar is one of the least complained-about automakers

Average complaints per car: 53.67

It’s still early days for Polestar, Volvo’s EV-focused brand. So far, it impresses with sleek designs, but pricing remains a barrier to most U.S. drivers. The Polestar 2 leads the lineup, combining strong acceleration, a high-tech interior, and a respectable electric range. With plans for more models like the Polestar 3 SUV, this brand is carving out a niche in the premium EV market.

2. Genesis

Average complaints per car: 47.20

Genesis, Hyundai’s luxury arm, delivers premium features at competitive prices. The GV80 SUV gained fame when Tiger Woods survived a crash in one. The G70 sports sedan competes with European rivals, offering sharp handling and a refined cabin. The all-electric GV60 is also making waves with its futuristic design and quick charging.

Volvo is the least complained-about automaker

Average complaints per car: 47.20

Of course, Volvo is synonymous with safety and Scandinavian style. The XC60 is a customer favorite, blending comfort, advanced driver assistance tech, and solid performance. The S60 sedan delivers a smooth ride with a focus on safety. The all-electric XC40 Recharge offers Volvo’s signature security with zero emissions.

Now, you might be wondering where Toyota and Honda landed since they’re missing from Confused.com’s top five. According to the analysis, Toyota landed in 18th place, with an average of  291.89 complaints per vehicle. Honda performed even worse according to the group’s measure: 26th place, with an average of 519.60 complaints per car. As you can see, it appears U.S. drivers complain the least about luxury automakers.
