Rumors have been running rampant about a new John Deere pickup truck. Farmers and workers trust their machinery. But would drivers trust them to build a rugged truck for hauling large equipment?
Is the John Deere pickup truck really happening?
Unfortunately, if you’re excited about a John Deere pickup truck, then you’re about to be let down. Images of a new green truck with yellow deer badges have been AI-generated.
According to Slash Gear, John Deere hasn’t made any recent announcements about building trucks or street-legal cars.
For the time being, John Deere is sticking to what it knows. It will continue to build tractors, lawnmowers, and its other usual machines.
AI-generated images of John Deere vehicles quickly spread across the internet like wildfire, getting farmers excited all across the nation. But the images were spread by outlets just looking to get a quick click.
The images appeared in fake official press releases. People liked the idea of the company building trucks specifically with farmers with unique and beneficial features.
Because the fake images came out just days before fake Caterpillar truck photos emerged. People thought the companies were competing against each other to develop farm trucks.
Speculation ran wild about gas, diesel, and hybrid offerings. Even rumors about electric trucks ran wild. But the images were just more unofficial artwork.
In reality, breaking into the truck industry would be extremely difficult. John Deere would have to go up against Ford, Chevrolet, and Ram.
Beating these three American truck brands is no simple task. The Japanese Toyota Tundra lags far behind in sales and the Nissan Titan was discontinued in 2024.
However, both companies remain committed to building personal and heavy-duty equipment for agriculture, construction, forestry, logging, government, military, landscaping, and lawn care.
