Kentucky fire sergeant follows tow truck and hits drivers with car

A Kentucky fire sergeant tried to beat up a tow truck driver and hit others with his car while his license was suspended.

You would expect a fire sergeant to be an upstanding citizen. However, one sergeant in Kentucky totally lost it when his car needed to be towed. He threatened to attack the tow truck driver and hit employees with his car.

34-year-old Ramiro Rodriguez was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree assault, one count of third-degree terroristic threatening, operating on a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to render assistance.

That’s quite the list of charges for a Kentucky fire sergeant to land. But he lost control of his emotions when his car needed to be towed. Jeffersontown police called a tow service to move a vehicle without plates abandoned on the road.

According to WLKY, a tow truck driver arrived to collect his car and he said it ran out of gas. The driver said he would get it back when he paid the fee. Then Rodriguez threatened the driver but paid the fee.

He followed the tow truck several miles to the 3300 block of Collins Lane off La Grand Road. Police officers shared that Rodreguez threatened the tow truck operator again.

Two other drivers heard the altercation and asked Rodriguez to leave. Then he got into his car and hit them. One man had an injured wrist and knee. The other driver cut his mouth and sustained injuries to his tailbone and leg.

Rodriguez fled the scene before police officers arrived, but the entire incident was caught on camera. He was operating under a suspended license during the incident. The Louisville Fire Department confirmed that Rodriguez is the sergeant with the department.

The LFD shared that Rodriguez has been placed on administrative leave while they conduct an internal investigation.
