Meet Doc, Happy and Sneezy; these tiny black and white Chihuahua puppies are only one month of age, and entered Animal Care Services in San Antonio without their mother. The shelter has them listed as orphans – three of the six puppies have been displayed as adoptable (A742455 Happy, A742456 Sneezy and Doc A742453) and are being kept in the same kennel cage.

The puppies have tested negative for heartworms, although experts state it takes at least six months for a dog to test positive after it has been infected.

It is heartbreaking to note, that the shelter has posted the kennels are at capacity, and the puppies will be euthanized without confirmed placement.

PLEASE NOTE: San Antonio Urgents & Adoptables is not the city municipal shelter. They post information and photos of the urgent dogs at risk of euthanasia to other rescues, adopters and fosters to save their lives.

Euthanasia (Kill) begins at 12:30 pm Monday thru Friday and 11am on Saturday. Although general euthanasia (kill) may take place on any of these days, pets with grave medical concerns may be killed at any time.
