At the San Pedro Harbor recycling area, there are rows of factories and processing areas, and then comes the ocean. Workers at the factory had spotted a young black dog several months ago. He had been abandoned on the docks and wanted nothing to do with humans. One can only imagine the cruelty he had likely been subjected to in his past, and it wasn’t as if he wanted to ever take a chance with humans again.

And so he lived alone on the docks, and when any of the workers would try to capture him, the dog would run away and had no hesitation jumping into the ocean to escape.
This is where he lived:
It was as if he swam for his life, and when the men left and the dog was sure he was alone, he would take refuge under the bridge. At times the tide would come in; the ocean water covering up to his chest.
This poor dog lived long, cold nights, but one of the workers at the recycling center, Mark wanted to help. Since the dog feared everyone, Mark wasn’t discouraged; he allowed the dog his space, but set up a feeding station.

Poor baby was so scared at any noise. he would sneak out from under the bridge and up to the dock at the center and eat his food.
One of the workers contacted Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29. She was determined to help and finally save this dog’s life before it would be too late. For three nights in a row she tried everything to trap him. He was just too scared to come any closer, and when he spotted Hall, he not only ran away but didn’t stop running until he jumped into the ocean.

The workers would watch the dog on the surveillance videos and provide Suzette with updates since it was too dangerous for her to actually stay inside of the recycling center.
Nevertheless, Suzette wasn’t giving up. She was exhausted and discouraged, but kept repeating to herself this rescue endeavor would work out.

And this morning was the miracle. He was rescued! His lonely days, cold nights and his fears were now behind him.
