
A FedEx driver was nearly shot following a road rage incident with a 17-year-old. He sped off at over 100 mph hours.
A 17-year-old in Tennessee is in serious trouble after shooting at a FedEx driver. The road rage incident escalated to the point of the teenager’s father getting arrested. This could have all been avoided by letting a near collision go.
17-year-old arrested for firing shots at FedEx driver
A FedEx driver quickly called the police after a road-age incident escalated to the point of shots being fired into his truck.
The Jackson Police Department shared that the incident occurred on South Highland Avenue in Jackson around 5:20 PM. According to WREG, a male driving a pickup truck almost caused a wreck and started following the FedEx truck.
The teen pulled up beside the FedEx truck and fired shots inside the cab, right behind the driver’s head. The driver followed the truck while on the phone with police officers to describe the truck and the young driver.
Officers found the suspect’s car on North Highlander Avenue near Ridgecrest Road and tried to initiate a traffic stop. Then the driver, identified as a 17-year-old, took off at speeds over 100 mph on Interstate 40.
Officers got a juvenile petition for his arrest and went to his home. The United States Marshall Service was called in to assist with the arrest.

His father, 44-year-old Ricky Maness provided false information about the teen’s whereabouts. But the teen was hiding under his bed and taken into custody.
The teen was taken to the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center. His father was booked into the Henderson County detention Center.
The 17-year-old is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, felony reckless endangerment, and felony evading arrest. His father was arrested as an accessory during the fugitive investigation.
