Six people injured as dump truck rams through Target wall
A Target in North Bergen, New Jersey is working to clean up debris and repair a hole in the wall after a dump truck suddenly hit the store.
The truck was landing rocks and dirt at the top of 71st Street before heading downhill at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control as the truck crossed into southbound lanes of traffic.
According to ABC 7 NY, It hit a semi-truck and then crashed through the wall of Target around 2:30 PM. The impact of hitting the tractor-trailer caused the dump truck to slow down significantly before hitting the wall.
If it didn’t hit the semi-truck then the accident could have been much worse for patrons inside the store. Six people were injured, including the driver.

While the driver only had minor injuries he had to be extricated from his truck. One woman had to be rescued from the bathroom. She along with the other victims were taken to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The store looked like a bomb went off. The wall was demolished as water spewed from broken pipes. Debris and goods were scattered about. Also, the hole in the side of the building is currently being covered by plywood.
Police are currently investigating the incident and the truck is being held as evidence. Based on the preliminary investigation, it seems like an accident. The Target remains closed until extensive repairs can be completed.
