Not having head and tail lights can increase the chances of a crash.
Kia makes some of the best cars and SUVs to buy. This is especially the case for those looking for something more affordable. However, no automaker is perfect, and Kia recently issued a new car recall due to issues with lighting in some of its most popular SUVs. Auto mechanics at Kia dealerships will fix the problem for free.
Kia has a new car recall on some of what many call the best SUVs to buy
Kia is no stranger to a car recall, which is valid for all automakers. According to the NHTSA, the company has issued a new one for 74,469 of its SUVs due to an issue with lighting. A software issue in these vehicles can cause a short-term loss of the low beams from the head and tail lights. Naturally, this could substantially increase the likelihood of a crash while driving.
So, what models are included in the car recall? This consists of 63,782 units of the Kia Sorento from 2024-2025. The automaker is also recalling 8,947 units of the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid. As mentioned, these are among Kia’s most popular models, which is why it impacts so many units.
Impacted owns are expected to receive an official notification about the car recall toward the end of February. Of course, they won’t be on the hook to have it repaired, as auto mechanics at the dealership will do it for free. A software update should fix the problem and have the lights running normally. Until then, drivers should be careful and monitor their lights while driving.
