In Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, a loyal dog named Moo Daeng has captured the tearful eyes of social media after her photos showed her waiting outside of a neighborhood corner store where her owner, who passed away two months ago, used to frequent.

The dog’s story went viral after being shared on Facebook “Korat: The City You Can Create.”
Moo Daeng had often been seen following her owner around the different booths at the market as the man tried to sell merchandise he had found or made. One of the food vendors said Moo Daeng was always at the man’s side until he passed away.

She has since won the hearts of local residents with people referring to her as the “Hachiko of Korat.” The dog naps at the same spot since her unnamed owner passed away in November 2024. The dog wears a red t-shirt to keep her warm.
According to area residents,
moo daeng is docile and friendly. she is loved and adored by the vendors in the market who always bring her snacks, rice and water.
The owner of the convenience store has made sure the dog is healthy – even taking her to the veterinarian for vaccinations and health checkups.

What’s Next for Moo Daeng?
Local residents continue to care for Moo Daeng, hoping she will eventually accept their love and go home with one of the families. Animal welfare groups have stepped up and shown interest in helping her, but for now, Moo Daeng chooses to stay where her heart belongs, watching and waiting.
