Dalmatian dogs have been associated with being “firehouse dogs,” and we have often seen photos of them riding in fire trucks. Their flashy black and white coats attract a lot of attention, and if you check out some of the photos of the past, these beautiful dogs would ride on horse drawn carriages they would guard.

These dogs (Dals for short) are dependable watchdogs, bright, loyal and loving. They are athletic and make wonderful partners for active people – especially runners and bikers.
Before adopting a Dal, it’s good to know that these are very energetic puppies who need a significant amount of exercise daily (at least 2 hours). Some Dals are deaf, are heavy shedders and require consistent training because they love to be active.
Families with older children make the best homes for these friendly and sociable canines. When introduced properly to other dogs and pets in the family, a Dal fits in perfectly.
Keep your eyes peeled for their adoption offerings soon.
