Saddest pup moved from central viewing area to back of shelter desperately wants someone to love

Meet Biggs; is he not just a bundle of mushy Mastiff cuteness? Since October 30, 2024, Biggs has been at the Broward County Animal Care in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is just SO ready to be adopted. Not long ago his sister found her family, so why not Biggs?

For the past two weeks, Biggs has been in a viewing room. These rooms are front and center whenever anyone walks into the shelter heading to the adoption floor. The shelter rotates the dogs every few weeks to give them more exposure. Surely someone will look at their faces and just fall in love.

Sadly, today Biggs was moved to an area where the public is not allowed unless they are accompanied by a staff member. This area is very quiet, and Biggs has become very stressed; it is hoped Biggs can rest and decompress in the quiet area.

Check out his video of course there are always special people the dogs love. Look how happy Biggs is here:

When one of the volunteers saw Biggs, he didn’t get up to greet her, didn’t wag his tail or even jump around excitedly awaiting attention. Instead, he stood up on his hind legs, clasped his big paws on the edge of his kennel door and just looked at her.

i wanted to cry. i took him for a hamburger and then he fell asleep in my lap. it broke my heart to walk him back into the shelter.

Biggs is two-years-old, weighs 60 pounds, is great with people and has been fine in the company of both female and male dogs he has met on leash. The shelter does think he prefers female dogs.

This sweet boy is gentle with children. He is a very strong boy who still needs work on his leash training, but he’s smart and truly wants to please.
