As the Los Angeles County, Eaton Fire continues burning, the Pasadena Humane Society has been taking in injured and burned domestic pets as well as wildlife needing immediate help.

According to the organization, more than 250 animals with no homes, burns and injuries arrived on Wednesday; more are expected to arrive today. And in addition to the animals needing help, the shelter, because of its proximity to the evacuation zone, might also have to leave. At this time, however the animals and staff are safe.

A plea for help was issued on social media Wednesday afternoon:
Pasadena Humane Society is in desperate need of foster homes to help make space for evacuated pets.
If you are able to volunteer and live in the area and your home is not in an evacuation area – please show up at the Pasadena Humane Society to offer your services.
If you can’t foster, just offer to help clean kennels, or whatever they need assistance with.
Their phone lines are swamped, just please show up and ask “how can I help”.

Pasadena
Bring masks if you have any, the air quality is dangerous!
Large animals should be taken to the I.A. Equestrian Center at 480 Riverside Drive in Burbank.

The dedicated staff has been working round-the-clock helping the animals of displaced families and individuals.

As shelter space is limited, volunteers are needed to foster a dog or cat for at least a week. Please contact the Pasadena Humane Foster Office or visit in person.
