In Santa Monica, California, a rescue dog named Cactus hit the lottery; no not money for picking the magic numbers… Better yet, since money means nothing to a dog, Cactus was adopted, and his new human wanted to make sure his canine partner would live the life of love and leisure he so deserved.
Mike adopted Cactus a few months ago from Pups Without Borders, a non profit located in Los Angeles that specialize in rescuing pregnant, nursing dogs and their puppies from the United States and Mexico. At the time Mike had signed up to foster the puppy for a few weeks, but like so many fosters – lovingly referred to as “foster failures,” Mike fell in love with the puppy and adopted him. Cactus had been the only survivor of his litter who had been found in the desert. When rescued, Cactus was sick, but with expert care and a lot of attention, the puppy bounced back to good health.
Cactus has adjusted to his new home and Mike quite well; his favorite spots are in bed with his owner, picking out new toys at the store and digging on the beach.
Mike, the ever attentive dog dad, however thought he might spoil his friend even more; the theory behind a dog parent can rarely spoil an adopted dog too much.

Recently, Mike decided to cook Cactus his very first steak.

i wanted to treat cactus to something special so i decided to make him his own steak. this was his first time ever trying, and i think it’s safe to say he loved it.

We think Cactus might expect this again too.
