Rosalie, an eight-year-old Labrador retriever has given up. She is currently at the BARC Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas, and faces her final hours if no one steps up to save her. Her life, however doesn’t have to end today – can you help?
Her heartbreaking posture, as she sits dejectedly in the corner, her head lowered, her back slumping forward and her eyes echoing her sadness, speaks volumes about her loneliness, confusion and of course, her fear.
A volunteer writes:
beside her, a few scattered toys and a small orange towel add a touch of color to the otherwise cold and sterile environment. the tiled walls of the shelter loom around her, emphasizing her loneliness and the urgency of the situation.
From what has been noted about Rosalie’s past, adds to her heartbreaking story. She had been found as a stray after a long time of scavenging the streets just to survive. When she was found, she had just given birth to a litter of puppies. Her puppies have since been adopted, but no one ever came to rescue Rosalie. She was left behind because she has been “extremely fearful” yet she has “never shown any aggression.”
Rosalie is rescue only and needs an approved organization to step forward and give her the chance she so deserves.
