A family had been walking their dog, an Airedale named Olive on the beach at Wells-next-the-Sea, United Kingdom, on December 29, when they were accidentally separated by the incoming high tide.
According to BBC News, RNLI inshore lifeboat team, an emergency rescue service, the family were able to safely wade to the shoreline, but Olive tried to swim across the channel to beach and couldn’t stay afloat. The dog’s owner managed to retrieve the dog out of the water and bring her to the shore, nut she was unresponsive. A crew member and nurse began chest compressions ultimately saving the dog’s life.
“i am used to resuscitating humans but never a dog,” stated the nurse, Simon parkes.
Everyone was relieved when Olive started to breathe on her own. They then wrapped the dog up in towels and blankets and brought her back to the boathouse. It wasn’t long before Olive found her land legs again and was able to walk towards her family. Fortunately, another member of the rescue team was a veterinarian and examined Olive.

Olive’s family are indeed thankful to the rescue team for the attention and support. They saved Olive’s life. On Sunday the family, including Olive, met with the rescue team to thank them personally.
