Corpus Christi, TX – A Cold Weather Advisory and Freeze Watch has been issued for parts of South Texas this weekend. Residents should be prepared for wind chill with temperatures in the low 20s on Sunday morning, followed by freezing conditions late Sunday night.
A severe weather advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday for Bee, Goliad, Victoria and other counties, according to the National Weather Service. The freeze watch begins late Sunday night and continues through Monday morning, with temperatures potentially dropping as low as 27 degrees.
Cold weather can damage crops, harm sensitive plants and cause plumbing problems. Officials urge residents to protect plants and insulate outdoor pipes. People going out should dress warmly, wear a hat and gloves to avoid hypothermia.
Travelers should also use caution as icy conditions may develop on the roads. Pets should be kept indoors during these cold temperatures.
For people in affected areas, taking immediate precautions can prevent costly damage and health risks. Stay up to date with the latest forecasts to ensure safety during the harsh winter.
