WPBN: According to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, William Vosler, 68, died from a stab wound of the chest and blunt head trauma; Eileen Vosler, 66, died from multiple stab wounds of the chest and neck; Shane Vosler, 33, died from a gunshot wound to the head as a result of suicide and Sue Bin Lee, 34, died from a gunshot wound to head with an undetermined manner of death.
William and Eileen Vosler’s deaths were ruled homicides, the medical examiner said, however the motive for the killings remains unknown.
Deputies determined Shane was the adult son of parents William and Eileen, and Sue Bin was his girlfriend.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department public information officer Carly Cappetto stated, “Everybody in that household died at a different time frame with the son being the last one to be deceased.”
“The mother and father had been deceased since sometime around the summer,” she stated. “The son [and girlfriend] continued to live in that home for nearly six months or more when those deceased parents had been in the home.”
Although it’s unknown whether the girlfriend killed herself or if someone else killed her, deputies gathered enough information to conclude that Shane and his girlfriend were possible suspects in the murder of his parents.
“It’s unknown at the time who killed who,” Cappetto stated. She also stated that the department will shortly be dismissing the case because all of the individuals involved have passed away.
According to documents, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department conducted two welfare checks: one on December 23 when a deputy discovered no overt indications of forced entry or odor, and another on December 29 after discovering that the son’s girlfriend had posted online in November that she “was considering suicide with [the son].”
With a deputy on call, two further sons of William and Eileen visited their parents at their Puyallup residence on New Year’s Eve to see how they were doing. According to the documents, they entered the house by removing a second-floor air conditioner.
According to the documents, one of the boys hurried out of the house less than a minute after entering and claimed to have seen a woman in a blood-covered room.
As other units arrived on the scene, the deputy “smelled a distinct odor of body decomposition” at the entrance of the house.
Guns, cellphones, and two notes that were affixed to one of the freezers and read, “Time of death July 24th 5:45 a.m.” and “Time of death July 24th 3 p.m.” are among the several items that were taken from the scene. Additional notes regarding the time of death were discovered on the garage freezer.
Deputies discovered Sue Bin, a lady who was “obviously deceased,” on the bed in an upstairs bedroom. Deputies discovered dried blood on the floor beneath the bathroom door in the main bedroom, which was locked.
The door had one gunshot hole in it. Although they couldn’t completely pry open the toilet door, they discovered a bullet and the lifeless body of a man named Shane inside.

The neighbors The Voslers live two doors down the street from Bill and Cheri Bosma, who have been residents for 22 years.
“It was very sobering,” Bill Bosma stated. “It was in our gut that may have been what happened, but hearing it now… it confirmed our fears.”
“We noticed when we would drive by there was always a lot of activity in the driveway, working on cars and in the yard. We both noticed that. Suddenly, it seemed like all activity had stopped,” Cheri Bosma stated. “It just didn’t seem right.”
All parties engaged in this case, including the community, police enforcement, and the medical personnel that arrived on the site, experienced trauma, according to PIO Cappetto.
“Hopefully, we all learn as a community to check up on our loved ones sooner and put better mental health services in place,” she stated.
