WPBN: For various counts relating to inappropriate connections and messages made to minors at the school, a former student teacher at Sherwood High School was sentenced to three years in jail and forced to register as a sexual offender.
The allegations were brought against the student during her time at the school.
Mason Isaiah Dominguez, age 25, entered a guilty plea on Tuesday, according to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office. He was charged with two charges of luring a kid and attempted to use a child in display of sexually explicit activity.
As a result of a pupil bringing issues to the attention of the school administrators in April 2023, Dominguez was terminated from his position and removed from the school. It was reported by the student to the teaching members that Dominguez was sending her messages on social media, which is against the rules of the school.
After some time had passed, Dominguez, who had been a student teacher at George Fox University and had been assigned to the school at the time, admitted to sending the pupil a message.
The following day, Dominguez was terminated from his position, and another student came forward to claim that she had been involved in an inappropriate relationship with him.
A large number of communications were sent back and forth between the two, with Dominguez sending her sexually graphic films and photographs of himself. Moreover, the student stated that Dominguez requested that she give him graphic photographs as well.
During the course of an investigation conducted by a school resource office of the Sherwood Police Department, Dominquez originally denied any misconduct she may have committed.
Dominquez, however, subsequently acknowledged to the charges after sexually graphic films, images, and text conversations were found from his phone, according to the district attorney’s office.

Immediately after Dominguez was terminated from his position in April of 2023, the criminal investigation that was conducted against him ended in an indictment by a grand jury and an arrest in October of that same year.
