Early Thursday morning, January 9, 2025, Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a welfare check at 5707 Manor Road after receiving a call about a woman lying in a pool of blood in a parking lot.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Kelly Meazell with apparent trauma. She was pronounced deceased at 2:11 a.m.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Police believe the incident is isolated, and there is no danger to the public at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.

This case marks Austin’s second homicide of 2025.
