WPBN: Several months after his girlfriend was found guilty of the child’s murder, a man from Tennessee has been charged with child abuse in connection with the death of his son, who was six years old at the time of his death. By July 2023, the body of a little child named Turner Simpkins, who was just six years old, was discovered inside a house near Chapmansboro, Tennessee.
It was determined by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) that the boy had died as a result of persistent blunt force trauma as well as nutritional deficiencies. A extended period of abuse and neglect was determined to be the cause of his death.
Shannon Leigh Elliott, who was 27 years old at the time of the killing, was indicted in March of 2023 in connection with the homicide.
Murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse were among the charges that Elliott was found guilty of. According to the documents kept by the state jail, she was ultimately executed and sentenced to life in prison.
