Jose Alfredo Ponce-Hernandez, 52, was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child on December 5, 2024, and sentenced to 25 years in prison. The jury unanimously found Ponce-Hernandez guilty of the crime, despite his attempts to blame his underage victim. The victim in the case was under 13 years of age. The relationship between Ponce-Hernandez and the victim has not been disclosed, but his wife filed for divorce following his arrest.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kalle Riner and Aryanna Bradford, with the assistance of DA Investigator Laura Brakefield.
Ponce-Hernandez has been incarcerated since January 9, 2024. He is an illegal alien.
Although the Judge decided the punishment, all 12 members of the jury stated to see the result and hear the victim impact statement.
