On January 4, 2025, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a theft in progress at the Best Buy located in the 1500 block of Lake Woodlands Drive. Before deputies arrived, the suspects fled the scene in a U-Haul truck.
Deputies with the Woodlands Township Patrol quickly located the vehicle, which failed to stop and led authorities on a pursuit lasting nearly an hour. The chase ended in Harris County when the driver abandoned the U-Haul and attempted to flee on foot but was swiftly apprehended.
The two arrested suspects were identified as 61-year-old Christopher Darnell Allen of Houston and 42-year-old Shayla Jaree Timmons of Duncanville. A search of the U-Haul uncovered multiple stolen items and narcotics.
Both individuals are facing charges including evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, outstanding warrants, and theft. They are currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges against other individuals possible.
