Emmarae Gervasi, 14, who vanished from East Patchogue on December 8, was discovered alive on January 3, ending what her father described as “26 days of hell.” The teenager’s rescue came after her father, Frank Gervasi, received a crucial tip from a woman who identified the boat’s location.
The reunion occurred after Gervasi took matters into his own hands, boarding the vessel despite the tipster’s reluctance to approach. His desperate search, which included offering a $15,000 reward and countless hours driving through Suffolk County, finally led to this emotional breakthrough.

“It was a gift from God. I can’t put into words the feeling I had when I held her,” Frank Gervasi told News 12 Long Island following the rescue. According to his account, the boat was empty when he found his daughter.
The circumstances of Emmarae’s disappearance remain under investigation. Mr. Gervasi had previously told PIX 11 that he believed his daughter was lured from their property. “I believe that she might have left willingly to get something out of a car and maybe got pulled in at that point,” he said during the search.
