NASHVILLE, TN – Snow and cold conditions will persist across Middle Tennessee late Sunday night into Monday. Residents are urged to be prepared for potentially icy roads and dangerous travel during the morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, light snow is expected after midnight, which will taper off by noon Monday. Nighttime temperatures will drop to 29 degrees, with winds gusting up to 25 mph, which will create a chill. Accumulations are expected to be light, but slippery areas on untreated roads and elevated surfaces are likely, especially during the early hours of travel.
The high on Monday will struggle to reach 36 degrees, and a mix of wind chill and gusty winds will make conditions feel even colder. The week ahead will be cool, with daytime highs mostly in the 30s and overnight lows falling into the teens. Wednesday night is expected to be particularly cold, with a low of around 16 degrees.
Later in the week, another weather system could bring snow Friday night into Saturday morning. The system is still being monitored, but forecasters warned that it could significantly impact travel in Middle Tennessee.
Residents should monitor updates and consider delaying travel during hazardous conditions. Stay tuned for the latest weather alerts and make sure vehicles and homes are winter-ready.
