State College, PA – A powerful winter storm is set to impact Central Pennsylvania tonight, bringing heavy snow and hazardous travel conditions. Snowfall totals are expected to reach 5 to 8 inches across Bedford, Fulton, and Somerset Counties by Monday night.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm will begin around 10 p.m. tonight and continue through 10 p.m. Monday. Areas near Route 30 and I-76 could experience treacherous travel conditions during the Monday morning and evening commutes. Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and prepare vehicles with emergency supplies, including flashlights, food, and water.
Monday: Snow likely through the afternoon, high of 26°F. Calm winds becoming northeast at 6 mph. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible during the day.
Monday Night: Light snow continues, low around 15°F. Gusty winds up to 25 mph will make outdoor conditions hazardous.
Tuesday: Partly sunny skies, high near 27°F. No significant snow expected.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, high of 25°F, and dry conditions anticipated.
Thursday: Partly sunny with a high near 30°F.
