School Bus Driver in Florida Faces Child Abuse Charges for Allegedly Pulling Student’s Hair


WPBN: Following allegations that he pulled a boy’s hair and allowed him to be tormented, a school bus driver in the state of Florida is currently facing disciplinary action, according to the police in the Sunshine State.

Based on the allegations made by the Miami Police Department, Lazaro Treminio, who is 34 years old, is being accused of both child abuse and child neglect in relation to the instances. It is a boy who is six years old.

According to an arrest report that CBS News was able to obtain, the police claim that the event involved the school bus driver intervening in a dispute that was taking place between the youngster and his own daughter.

In that particular instance, the girl is said to have attempted to attack the victim, but the decision to stop the disagreement from being physical was made by the boy’s older sister.

After that, Treminio allegedly commanded the youngster, “Never to touch his daughter,” and then he yanked him by the hair, according to the individual who was the victim of the crime.

According to the information provided by WPLG, the alleged incidence of hair pulling took place on the afternoon of November 20, 2024, somewhere along Northwest Seventh Street.

According to the police report, the child, who was just six years old at the time of his detention, was able to “distinguish between the truth and a lie.” He was also described as “very articulate.”

According to the police, the youngster informed his parents about the encounter that prompted the charges, and the family subsequently reported the allegations on November 21.

It was said by the claimed victim that he had been bullied in the past on multiple occasions. The boy told the authorities that Treminio was the one who started the bullying incident at least once. He allegedly persuaded other children to bully the child who was just six years old.

According to the police complaint, the boy, who was six years old at the time, was subjected to a bullying episode in which another child physically pushed him to the floor of the bus, causing him to hit his head.

According to the authorities, the claimed victim’s sister, who is just ten years old, assisted in substantiating her brother’s account. The detectives were informed by her about the hair-pulling event as well as other instances in which her sibling was subjected to body slams by larger children.

Additionally, the boy’s sister stated that Treminio allegedly instructed her to remain quiet and not to notify her parents about what occurred on the bus. She also stated that Treminio told her to keep quiet.

According to the police, Treminio was taken into custody on Thursday after he was brought into custody while driving his own vehicle during a traffic stop.

As of Friday, the bus driver was being held in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a bond of $7,500. However, as of the time this article was written, the records of the jail do not contain any inmates with the defendant’s name.

Mindy S. Glazer, the judge of the Miami-Dade Circuit Court, was the one who presided over the defendant’s initial court appearance.
