Pregnant Women and Families Can Now Receive TCA Direct Payments – Here’s How?

WPBN: For families to be eligible for cash assistance through the Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) program, they must meet certain standards about their assets, income, and technical skills.

Additionally, they must have children who are under the age of 18 (or under  the age of 19 if they are enrolled full-time in high school). Children are allowed to remain in their own homes while the program provides assistance to families while they work toward being financially independent.

Individuals who wish to apply for TCA must, in addition to being residents of Florida, possess either a social security number or documents demonstrating that they have applied for one.

It is important for pregnant women and their families to take into consideration the following terms and requirements in order to receive the TCA payment.

TCA is also available to expectant women, and it can be administered to them either in the ninth month of their pregnancy or in the third trimester provided that they are unable to work.

Applicants must include their parents, children, and younger siblings if they are living together.

Applicants are required to fulfill a number of qualifying standards in order to be eligible for TCA benefits. The fact that individuals are only allowed to receive cash assistance for a maximum of forty-eight months in their lifetime makes this one of the most important conditions. Cases that are considered to be “child-only” are, on the other hand, exempt and do not have any time constraints.

In light of the fact that it recognizes the unique requirements that children in these situations have, this distinction is absolutely necessary.

In addition, unless they are exempt from this requirement, certain beneficiaries are required to participate in activities that are connected to their work.

Regional workforce boards play a significant role in this regard because they are responsible for providing the necessary services and activities to help individuals in getting or retaining employment. Between the first and the 28th of each month, the EBT program will be used to distribute TCA payments.
