Man critically injured in shooting on Washington Avenue after argument


HOUSTON, TX – A man was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning following an argument in the 5300 block of Washington Avenue.

The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. According to police, the argument escalated when the victim repeatedly told the suspect to leave him alone. The suspect then produced a firearm and shot the victim once in the chest before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Police set up a perimeter and searched the surrounding area, near the 5100 block of Lillian Street, but the suspect was not located.
