Louisiana couple welcomes super rare miracle quadruplet, two sets of identical twins

Louisiana couple welcomes super rare: Quadruplet, two sets of identical twins

Farrah and Peyton Larry of Louisiana closed out the year with a once-in-a-lifetime event: the birth of their quadruplet daughters, delivered on November 20. The rare occurrence became even more extraordinary when doctors revealed that the babies were born as two sets of identical twins—a phenomenon that defies astronomical odds.

Speaking to People magazine, Farrah, 29, recalled the emotional delivery, which took place just before Thanksgiving. “I was laughing and crying at the same time,” she shared. “My husband was about to pass out.”

A natural and unexpected blessing

The couple, who met during college, were stunned to learn they were expecting quadruplets after announcing their pregnancy in May 2024. Having conceived naturally, the news came as a complete shock. According to the Journal of Family and Reproductive Health, the odds of conceiving quadruplets without fertility treatments range from 1 in 512,000 to 1 in 677,000. The likelihood of two sets of identical twins is even rarer. “Clearly God has a plan for these girls because the odds were against us. We’ve just got to trust him,” Farrah said.

Naming their miracle quadruplet babies

Initially referred to as Baby A, B, C, and D, the quadruplets were eventually named Paisley, Psalm, Lyric, and Fallyn. The names were chosen in a unique way: Peyton drew each one from a brown bag as the babies were born.

“As the baby came out, he would pull out the name and say, ‘Alright, this is Lyric…,’” Farrah explained. Paisley and Psalm form one set of identical twins, while Lyric and Fallyn make up the other. Each baby weighed around four pounds at birth and spent several weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit before being released.

Life with quadruplets

Adjusting to life with four newborns has been a whirlwind for the new parents. Farrah described their daily routine, noting that sleep has become a rare luxury. “I’m sleeping maybe three and a half hours a night,” she shared. The family goes through nearly 30 diapers and multiple packs of bottles daily to keep up with their growing daughters’ needs.

A rare phenomenon

The Larrys’ story echoes a similar event from 2023 when an Alabama couple welcomed their own set of quadruplets—also two sets of identical twins. Hannah Carmack gave birth to David, Daniel, Evelyn, and Adeline via cesarean section at 27 weeks.

While both cases highlight the rarity of such births, the Larrys’ journey is a testament to faith, resilience, and the joy of family. As the couple embarks on their new chapter with Paisley, Psalm, Lyric, and Fallyn, their story serves as a heartwarming reminder of life’s incredible surprises.
