WPBN: The ticket that won the biggest lottery prize in Massachusetts in 2024 was handed to the winner as a birthday present, which they referred to as “the best birthday present ever.”
At least 150 participants took home $1 million to $15 million, and one player took home even more. The 2024 Massachusetts top prize was worth $1 million annually for the rest of one’s life.
The $50 scratch ticket game “Lifetime Millions,” which debuted on February 6, 2024, was the source of the prize. Two $1 million annual life grand prizes, three $2 million prizes, and seven $1 million prizes are still up for grabs as of January 3.
On July 10, 2024, the 2024 lottery winner took their reward through the Merjon Tangovan Nominee Trust of Boston, which was represented by trustee Greg Racki.
Racki chose the cash option for the big prize rather than an annuity, and the winner was given $15.4 million. They informed Racki that they intended to use the money for travel, a new car purchase, and family support.
The winning ticket was purchased at Bedford’s Northside Market & Liquors, 44 North Road. A bonus of $50,000 was given to the retailer for selling the winning ticket.

The full list of Massachusetts’s top ten lottery winnings in 2024 is as follows:
- $1 million annually for the life prize won on July 10 from the “Lifetime Millions” scratch ticket game. The winner purchased their $50 ticket at the Northside Convenience store in Bedford and chose to accept their prize as a one-time payment of $15.4 million. There are still two major prizes up for grabs.
- On August 15, the $15 million prize from the “$15,000,000 Money Maker” scratch ticket game was claimed. The winner purchased their $30 ticket at the One Stop Mart in Lynn. Only one grand prize remains to be won in the game as of December.
- On June 13, a $15 million prize was claimed from the “300X” scratch ticket game. The $30 ticket that won was bought at the Topsfield Country Farms store. As of December, there were still two grand prizes up for grabs, and this was the first and only one to be claimed.
- On October 3, a $10 million prize was won in the “$10,000,000 Cash Blast” scratch ticket game. The winner purchased their $20 ticket at Shrewsbury’s Star Liquor store. With two more grand prizes up for grabs, it was the first and only grand prize won in the game as of December.
- On October 3, a $10 million prize was claimed from the “$10,000,000 Cash King” scratch ticket game. There were no big prizes left to be claimed when this winner purchased their $20 ticket at Jobi Liquors, Inc. in Boston.
- On September 4, a $10 million prize was claimed from the “$10,000,000 Bonanza” scratch ticket game. As of December, the lone grand prize won in the game was the $20 winning ticket that was sold at Coletti’s Market in Raynham. Two more grand prizes were still up for grabs.
- Winnings from the May 4 “Megabucks” drawing totaled $5.37 million. The winning ticket was bought at Lowe’s Variety Mart in Northborough, and the winning numbers for the drawing were 4, 11, 15, 26, 30, and 40.
- On October 2, a $5 million prize was won from a “$5,000,000 100X Cashword 2024” scratch ticket. This $20 winning ticket was sold at From Brazil Restaurant in Peabody during a busy week for lottery players in the state. As of December, the game has only one grand prize remaining.
- On June 18, a $5 million reward was won from a “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” scratch ticket that was launched in 2023. The final big prize in the game was the winning ticket, which was sold at the Price Chopper in Pittsfield.
- On August 24, a $2.64 million prize was won in the “Megabucks” drawing. The winner purchased their ticket at the Hillcrest Country Club in Leicester, and the winning numbers for the drawing were 5, 6, 8, 9, 24, and 32.
