PITTSBURGH, PA – Scattered snow showers and heavy lake-effect snow bands are causing hazardous travel conditions across parts of Pennsylvania today. Interstate 80 travelers face reduced visibility and slick roads, making it vital to exercise caution.
According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest snow is concentrated along the I-80 corridor, with bands creating quick accumulations and icy conditions. Snowfall is expected to intensify by Sunday afternoon, with one to two inches of new accumulation forecast overnight into Monday.

Looking ahead, Sunday marks the arrival of a more widespread snow system, bringing an 80% chance of precipitation by afternoon and high winds up to 15 mph. Temperatures will remain below freezing, with daytime highs around 28°F and nighttime lows dipping into the teens.
Monday continues the snowy trend, with another round of accumulation likely as a low-pressure system moves into the region. Travel disruptions are expected into the early week. By Tuesday, snow chances decrease to 30%, but frigid temperatures will persist, with highs near 28°F and lows at 17°F.
Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during peak snowfall periods. Spotter activation is not expected at this time, but further weather developments may require updates.
