Land of endless surprises and bold traditions
Texans know that driving around this big ol’ state is part of life, with miles of open road and kooky sights keeping you entertained between small-town stops. If you haven’t seen these yet, it’s time to hit the road.

Cadillac Ranch
We’ve got some buried Cadillacs in Amarillo, all lined up like they’re ready for a Texas tailgate. Each one shows off different tail fin designs made famous back in the day. Come on by and make your mark with a spray can.

The Fancy Faux Store of Prada Marfa
Hit the road to Marfa and check out not-a-real-store Prada Marfa. Yes, those are real Prada goods in the middle of nowhere. Kinda creepy, to be honest, but makes for a great photo.

World’s Largest Pecan
It’s totally nutty, but just go with it. It fits right into the “Everything is Bigger in Texas” motto anyway.

Stonehenge II
Head on over to the Hill Country to see Stonehenge II. It’s smaller than the one across the pond and it’s paired with Easter Island statues just because. Built by two neighbors in their backyard, this site doesn’t try to do anything with the sun. It just sits there looking ready for y’all’s Facebook pics.

The cow at Big Texan Steak Ranch
Venturing out to Amarillo calls for a stop at the famous Big Texan Steak Ranch, home of the ‘you-eat-it-you-get-it-free’ 72-ounce steak challenge. Remember to take a selfie beside the world’s most unimpressed cow.

A Toast to the Beer Can House
In Houston, take a look at over 50,000 beer cans making up this crafty creation. Ol’ John Milkovisch turned this house into a can-lover’s dream with marbles, rocks, and odds ‘n ends set in concrete. Up goes a toast to John, what a wacky fellow.

Texan-Topped Eiffel Tower
This one’s so Texan, it hurts. Over at Paris, Texas, there’s a replica of the Eiffel Tower topped with a Texas-sized red hat. This critter stands a smidge taller than the Tennessee Tower. This one’s lit up with LED lights changing all year round.

A huge dinosaur inside a tiny fence
Once you’ve checked out this big boy, go on and explore the rest of the place. Glen Rose lets you know where dinosaurs once roamed. When the weather’s dry, 113-million-year-old tracks can be seen. It’s a glimpse into the past with prints from a couple of dinosaur types, including one set showing a ‘double track’.

Tangle of History at Devil’s Rope Museum
At McLean’s Devil’s Rope Museum, you can get to know a whole bunch of barbed wire designs. Folk art pieces run all through the place, including a scorpion made of barbed wire. There’s history and a laugh waiting from how this was once a brassiere factory. You even find a Route 66 museum inside. It’s Texas with a twist.

Cosmic Connection at El Cosmico
Marfa will soon show off the new world with the first-ever 3D printed hotel. This place plans to mix desert and space vibes with curved forms that y’all don’t see every day.
Designed by some visionary minds, it aims to change the old ways for new ones fit for the Texan desert. Texans lead in cosmic hospitality now, apparently.
