Spring Shooting Leaves Teen Dead; Suspects Flee on Foot

On Thursday, January 2, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., patrol units with the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office responded to a shooting in the 4300 block of Hickorygate in the Birnam Wood subdivision of Spring, Texas.

Officers discovered an 18-year-old male, identified as Jaston Hamilton, with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the community recreation center. Hamilton was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witnesses reported that Hamilton had been involved in an interaction with three other black male teenagers in and around his vehicle before one of the suspects shot him. The exact nature of the interaction remains unclear. Following the shooting, all three suspects fled the scene on foot.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 713-274-9100 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
