Fatal Crash in Meadowbrook/Allendale Leaves One Dead, Suspect Captured After Fleeing

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 4500 Neal Street in Meadowbrook/Allendale on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m. The deceased male has been identified as Joel Fraustro, 48.

According to the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division, Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Riley reported that officers responded to the crash site and discovered that the driver of a silver Lexus LS-430 was traveling north on Neal Street at a high rate of speed. The driver ran a stop sign and collided with a blue Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on Glenview Drive.

The impact caused the Silverado to spin, coming to a stop in the front yard of a residence located at 8353 Glenview Drive. The Lexus spun around, struck the house, and came to rest on the east side of the residence. Fraustro, a passenger in the Lexus, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Silverado sustained minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital. The driver of the Lexus, a 37-year-old male, fled the scene on foot to a residence at 8245 Glenview Drive, where he was later apprehended. He was booked into Harris County Jail on unrelated charges.

The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
