Denver, CO – Colorado residents should be prepared for changing weather patterns this weekend as fog and snow are expected to impact travel and outdoor activities. Fog will cover areas of the Northeast Plains, including I-76, tonight, which is expected to reduce visibility for drivers during the evening and morning hours.
According to the National Weather Service, fog will prevail Saturday morning and mild temperatures will persist through Friday. The high temperature in Denver on Saturday will reach 47 degrees before cold air and snow showers move through the area during the day.
Snowfall is most likely in the Front Range mountains and northern plains, with light snowfall also expected. Travelers should anticipate high winds, blowing snow and dangerous road conditions on high mountain passes, especially above 9,000 feet. A 20% chance of snow increases by Saturday afternoon, increasing to 50% by Saturday night.
The weather on Sunday will be dry with mostly sunny skies and the maximum temperature will be around 36 degrees. However, another snow system is expected early next week, with snow possible on Monday night and Tuesday.
Drivers and outdoor enthusiasts should keep an eye on weather updates and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions. Carry emergency supplies with you if traveling through mountain passes.
