INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Central Indiana residents should prepare for light snowfall Thursday evening as a weak clipper system moves through the area. Northern parts of the region are expected to see 1-2 inches of snow accumulation, with less snow accumulation expected further south.
Snow will begin in northwest Indiana Thursday afternoon, spreading toward the southeast by the evening, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. The heaviest snowfall is expected between 8pm and midnight before tapering off by Friday morning. Northern counties, including Kokomo and Lafayette, are most likely to see higher totals.
Minor travel disruptions are possible on Thursday evening, especially during heavy snowfall. Drivers are urged to use caution on untreated roads and plan for extra travel time.
