On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at approximately 8:37 p.m., officers with the Austin Police Department responded to a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian on the 7100 block of East Hwy 290 WB. The motorcyclist, later identified as 44-year-old Kendra Dorby Mottley, and an unidentified pedestrian were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
This incident marks Austin’s 92nd fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 99 fatalities. By comparison, on the same date in 2023, there had been 89 fatal crashes leading to 92 fatalities.
