WPBN: The Lakeland Air Force veteran Brian Edward Klecha, who went under suspicious circumstances in late 2017, is still being investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), which is continuing its inquiry into his disappearance.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has produced a video interview in order to commemorate the seventh anniversary of his disappearance. In the interview, they urge the general public to come forward with any information that would assist in solving the case.
Klecha, who was 35 years old at the time of his disappearance, was depicted as being in a moment of transition in the months leading up to his abduction.
Over the course of three years, he had relocated from the house he had been living in, taken a leave of absence from his major position at Disney Corporation, and started working as a driver for Uber. The last time his fare was recorded was in December of 2017.
On December 26, 2017, Klecha was able to communicate with his mother for the last time. He was observed taking out two hundred dollars from the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union in Auburndale the next day, which was Thursday, December 27.
The identification of Klecha was corroborated by surveillance film, which showed him to be driving his own vehicle, appearing to be alone, and not in a hurry.
“This transaction is significant because it provides the only confirmed sighting of Brian and gave investigators a key financial lead,” FDLE Tampa Special Agent in Charge Mark Brutnell stated.
Klecha’s Jeep Patriot was discovered abandoned on February 11, 2018, close to the Morgan Street exit on State Road 618 in the city of Tampa.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, the vehicle was found to have been involved in two different car accidents prior to being abandoned. On the other hand, the second accident resulted in severe damage, while the first was a small collision.
Concerns concerning Klecha’s well-being were raised as a result of the fact that the lienholder and Klecha’s mother were unable to effectively communicate with him.
After additional investigation, the investigators were able to find Klecha’s mobile phone and discovered that he had abandoned two cats that he had a profound affection for. This gave further evidence that he had not departed voluntarily.
Authorities Urge Public to Help Find Missing 65-Year-Old Last Seen in Los Angeles
FDLE agents have a strong suspicion that Klecha may have been a victim of abuse due to drugs or domestic violence. As a result of his sudden absence, as well as the fact that he left his things and dogs behind, authorities are confident that he did not choose to disappear.
“We have to believe there’s information out there that can solve this case,” Brutnell stated. “We’re calling on the public to come forward with any details, no matter how small.”
Klecha’s mother has been unwavering in her determination to locate her son. In investigators’ questioning, she stated that she was determined to bring Brian home no matter what.
Brutnell pointed out “This family is in limbo, and someone out there knows something. We implore anyone with information to come forward, not just for the investigation, but to give Brian’s family the answers they deserve.”
