Camp Sherman, OR – A winter weather advisory is in effect for the east slopes of the Oregon Cascades through Wednesday. Snowfall is expected to accumulate 3 to 6 inches above 3,500 feet, creating hazardous travel conditions.

The National Weather Service warns that the heaviest snow will fall along US-20 near Santiam Pass, a key route for travelers. Cities including Camp Sherman, La Pine, Sisters, and Sunriver should prepare for difficult road conditions, especially during peak snowfall periods.

According to the advisory, the warning remains active until 4 p.m. Wednesday. Motorists are advised to slow down, increase following distances, and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas. For updated road conditions, visit tripcheck.com or dial 511.

Snow plows are actively working to clear primary roads, but caution is essential due to limited visibility and icy patches. Residents should prepare for potential delays and ensure emergency kits are stocked for travel.

Stay safe and plan ahead to avoid travel disruptions.
