WPBN: A complaint has been brought against the mother of a one-year-old boy from Alabama who was discovered to be missing after his parents were engaged in a car accident. The charges include the disappearance of the boy as well as the death of his sister, who was two years old.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Collins and his daughter Ryleigh, who was two years old at the time, were murdered after their 2020 Toyota Tacoma went off the road and collided with a tree on the morning of December 8. Wendy Pamela Bailey, the mother of the kid, was also sent to the hospital with critical injuries as a result of the accident that occurred on Fayette County Road 73, according to WBRC.
According to the sheriff’s office, they discovered the next day that the couple had another child, a one-year-old boy named Kahleb Rowan Collins, who was not there with his family at the time of the accident. Since the 4th of September, he had not been seen at any point.
Following the completion of an investigation, the authorities have affirmed their belief that Kahleb has been deceased for a number of months.
“His body has not been recovered, although law enforcement teams are still actively gathering information and searching for his remains,” according to authorities.
Criminally negligent homicide, aggravated child abuse, first-degree domestic violence, and mistreatment of a body are the charges that have been brought against Bailey, who is 22 years old, according to the office of the district attorney.
According to the office of the district attorney, the accusation of criminally negligent murder is connected to the death of Ryleigh, who, according to the authorities, was transported in the vehicle that Collins was driving at the time of the deadly collision without any restraints.
