Omaha, NE – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of northeast Nebraska, including Knox, Cedar, Antelope, Pierce, Wayne, Boone, and Madison counties. The advisory remains in effect from noon today until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Snow accumulations of up to 3 inches are expected, with winds gusting as high as 35 mph creating areas of blowing snow, particularly overnight. According to the NWS, these conditions may cause slippery roads and reduced visibility, with significant impacts anticipated during the Monday evening commute.

Boyd and Holt counties are under a similar advisory until midnight, with localized higher snow totals and increased winds later in the day. Sheridan County is also affected, with advisories beginning at 8 a.m. MST and extending until 8 p.m. MST, where gusts may reach 45 mph, especially in open areas.

Travelers are advised to slow down and exercise caution. For current road conditions, call 511 or visit the Nebraska Department of Transportation website.
