Hanford, CA – A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through 10 a.m. Monday for parts of the San Joaquin Valley, including Highway 198 and surrounding roadways.
Visibility could drop below a quarter mile in some areas, posing significant hazards for drivers. Officials urge residents to slow down, use low beams, and leave ample space between vehicles when traveling through foggy conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will begin lifting mid-morning as temperatures rise, but patchy fog could persist in some spots overnight into Tuesday. Monday will bring partly sunny skies, with a high near 53°F and calm winds from the northwest. Drivers can expect another round of patchy fog early Wednesday, just ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Tuesday marks a turning point, with mostly sunny weather expected and highs climbing to 54°F. By Wednesday night, fog could return, though conditions are expected to remain dry and relatively mild as Hanford prepares to ring in 2025.
The five-day outlook shows a warming trend, with temperatures reaching the upper 50s by Thursday. Clear skies and calm winds will dominate much of the week, though cooler nighttime lows will require extra layers for those heading out after sunset.
