WPBN: After engaging in sexual activity with her, a young girl who was 14 years old and had been reported missing in Tennessee was discovered safe and sound in Louisiana. The girl had been left in the woods by a man she had met online.
Alexander Materne, who is 28 years old, is the suspect in this case, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Materne met the adolescent girl on an online gaming platform and then made arrangements to drive from Louisiana to Tennessee in order to pick her up.
In the evening of December 23, he took the young lady to his residence in St. Rose, Louisiana, where he engaged in sexual activity with her. After she told him her age, he allegedly purchased a tent, some food and drink for the girl, and then left her in a remote wooded region in Tangipahoa Parish, which is approximately 42 miles away from his home.
According to reports, Materne left from that location and traveled to Jennings, Louisiana, approximately 160 miles away from his residence in St. Rose, in order to celebrate Christmas with his family here.

Authorities have stated that the parents of the adolescent girl were successful in locating Materne in Jennings and bringing deputies to his family’s residence in order to question him.
Later on, he led the detectives to the tent that the girl had set up in the woods. There, she had been for around two days.
First, the young lady was taken to a medical facility for a checkup, and then she was brought back to her family.
Among the many allegations that have been brought against Materne are felony counts of human trafficking and carnal knowledge, as well as aggravated kidnapping of a child-related offense.
“You can’t make this stuff up. It’s a Christmas miracle that she was found safe. This thing could’ve ended badly,” Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker stated.
