Fort Wayne, IN – Residents in northern Indiana should prepare for a windy and rainy Sunday as a weather advisory is in effect. The National Weather Service warns of northwest winds reaching 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph today, creating hazardous driving conditions and the potential for minor power outages.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will remain active from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight. Gusty winds may topple unsecured outdoor items, and drivers are urged to use extra caution, especially on elevated roadways such as Interstate 69 and US-30. Rain is forecast throughout the day, with temperatures peaking at 52 degrees before dropping to 35 degrees overnight.
The week ahead sees variable weather, with partly sunny skies on Monday and a high near 44 degrees. By Tuesday, rain returns with a chance of snow mixing in overnight as temperatures fall to 31 degrees. New Year’s Eve will be mostly cloudy with highs near 34 degrees, offering a chilly but dry evening for celebrations.
