Cleveland, OH – Northern Ohio residents are bracing for a stormy Sunday as thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected to sweep through the region this afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory until Monday morning, with strong winds posing risks to drivers, especially on I-90 and other major highways.
According to the National Weather Service, a line of thunderstorms will develop between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., with isolated severe storms possible. Residents should stay alert for damaging winds and potential power outages. Mild temperatures, briefly exceeding 60 degrees, will give way to cooler conditions by evening, dropping to around 40 degrees overnight.
Monday brings a chance of rain in the morning, tapering off by mid-day. Temperatures will fall to a high near 46 degrees as winds remain gusty, reaching up to 38 mph. Heading into New Year’s Eve, colder air will settle over the region, with snow likely Tuesday night into Wednesday. Accumulations could disrupt travel plans for the holiday, particularly in areas along Lake Erie.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects, monitor local forecasts, and avoid unnecessary travel during peak wind periods today. Preparations for potential power outages and icy conditions later this week are encouraged.
