Peoria Police Arrest Two Suspects After Dramatic Vehicle Theft and Foot Chase

Peoria, IL – Two suspects were arrested Tuesday after Peoria Police responded to a vehicle theft on East McClure Avenue.

At approximately 1:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of East McClure for a reported motor vehicle theft. The victim, who was sitting in his parked vehicle, jumped out when two suspects entered the car and drove away. He was uninjured.

Police located the stolen vehicle at Western and Lincoln avenues around 2:24 p.m. Two males exited the car and fled on foot. Officers pursued and apprehended both suspects at Proctor and Western.

The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Kendell M. Noel and a 16-year-old male. Noel faces charges of unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle and resisting police. The teen faces similar charges. Noel was transported to Peoria County Jail, while the juvenile was taken to a detention center.
