Victorville, CA – A traffic stop on US-395 turned into a significant drug bust, with California Highway Patrol officers seizing 44 pounds of methamphetamine valued at $154,000.
CHP-Victorville officers pulled over a driver near Interstate 15 for a traffic violation. During the stop, officers suspected the driver was impaired, leading to an arrest for DUI. A subsequent vehicle inventory revealed dozens of vacuum-sealed packages containing methamphetamine in the trunk, authorities reported.
The CHP stated the seizure underscores its commitment to public safety and drug interdiction. Officials emphasized the dangers of impaired driving and the broader impacts of drug trafficking in local communities.
Drivers are urged to remain vigilant on the roads and report suspicious activity to local law enforcement. Impaired driving puts lives at risk, and law enforcement encourages the use of designated drivers or rideshare services.
