According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, snow showers will taper off by midday Wednesday, leaving behind mostly sunny skies and highs near 22 degrees. Travelers should enjoy calm conditions through Thursday, with light winds and daytime temperatures peaking around 25 degrees. Overnight lows will remain bitter, hovering near single digits.
A gradual warming trend begins Friday, with highs reaching 29 degrees. By Saturday, calm conditions continue with temperatures climbing into the upper 30s, a noticeable shift from earlier in the week. However, Sunday introduces a significant concern, as freezing rain is expected to arrive by evening. Forecasters warn of slick roadways, particularly east of the Green Mountains, where the precipitation will persist longer.
Drivers should plan ahead for potentially hazardous conditions on Sunday evening and into Monday. If traveling, consider leaving earlier in the day before freezing rain begins. Rain showers will dominate Monday’s forecast as temperatures continue to rise, reaching a high near 43 degrees.
