A Missouri man is behind bars after he allegedly kidnapped a Lyft driver at gunpoint and made her take him to a Denny’s restaurant, where he hit her with a gun.
According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, Anthony Milton entered the Lyft on Oct. 24 in Hazelwood and the driver took him to his desired location. But once there, Milton allegedly refused to get out of the car and pulled out a gun. He then forced her to drive him to another address but again refused to get out of the car, the affidavit says.

Milton allegedly made the victim go to a Denny’s restaurant and made her go inside with him to “prevent her from contacting police.” Once inside, the victim activated a panic alarm on her phone and tried to get away from Milton by going into the bathroom. But Milton allegedly followed her inside and hit her in the head with a gun. He then left the restaurant, with surveillance video capturing some of the incident.
St. Louis CBS affiliate KMOV reported that police in Collinsville, Ill., arrested Milton on Thursday. He is also facing charges in Illinois including armed violence, battery and other gun-related crimes.
Hazelwood police detectives interviewed Milton about the alleged crimes against the Lyft driver. Per the affidavit, he admitted to being the man in the Lyft and going to Denny’s, but claimed it was the victim who pulled him into the bathroom. Witnesses and the surveillance video said otherwise.
Milton, a convicted felon, is facing charges of kidnapping, unlawful use of a firearm, first-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of armed criminal action. He was arrested in September in St. Louis County after he fled from police in a traffic stop, records show. He’s being held without bond.
