California man dies after dog attack, possible stabbing

San Bernardino police are investigating the death of a man who was bitten by dogs and possibly stabbed in the homeless encampment where he lived.

Paramedics and police officers were called to Perris Hill Park, 1135 E Highland Ave., around 5:20 pm Sunday, Nov. 3. The injured man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

No arrests have been announced. Capt. Nelson Carrington said Monday that detectives are still trying to sort out what happened.

The city’s Animal Services department took away 10 dogs from the park and will hold them while the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office investigates the cause of the man’s death, Carrington said.

The man’s name has not been publicly announced.

Police ask anyone with information on the case to call 909-388-5619 or email [email protected].
